On August 31, 1987, Williamsport Bills catcher Dave Bresnahan used a potato in a trick play that gained worldwide fame and still lives in infamy. On August 31, 2022, the Williamsport Crosscutters rebranded as the Great Potato Capers for a one night only celebration.
